A perfect wedding dinner has a deep impact on the mind of the guest. It is one of the biggest decisions that you will have to make for your wedding. You can choose between a seated dinner, a buffet, serving stations or family style. Whatever your idea is of a perfect wedding reception you need to consider and plan it out and you need to make it happen.

Things to be considered

  • The very first thing you should do is make a list of the things you really want to have at your reception. This would start with the number of guests you would like to invite. The list should consist of the bridesmaids and groomsmen, parents of the bride and groom, and any other friends/family members involved with the ceremony.
  • Whether your wedding will be indoors or outdoors, the dinner venue you select should be able to entertain all your guests. Proper arrangement should be made for amenities such as kids’ section, bathrooms and care for the elderly guests. Choose a location that is accessible for your guests.
  • Determine the budget for the dinner. Whether you dine out or in, someone has to pay for the food. The bride’s parents traditionally cover the wedding itself.
  • Enlist someone to plan the dinner for you. You’ll be busy enough taking care of last minute details for yourselves. The future mother-in-law fits nicely into this role, and it will give her a fairly important role to play in her son’s special day.
  • Send out the invitations at least two to four weeks prior to the rehearsal dinner itself.
  • Last but not least are the food and the music. Weddings are remembered by the quality of these two items. Enjoy and have a delicious dinner!
